Occasions

There are many occasions to buy a gift certificate for someone who is expecting or just had a baby. They are;

  • Pregnancy — We have a large selection of gifts for expectant mums. So if you would like them to select their own pregnancy products one of our gift certificates would be perfect.
  • Baby Shower — When attending a baby shower it’s customary to bring a present. But choosing the perfect gift can be difficult especially if you aren’t close with the parents-to-be. Therefore a baby shower voucher would be a great gift. This way they buy exactly what they need.
  • Maternity Leave — Buying a maternity leave hamper for a work colleague can be a fun and daunting experience at the same time. So instead buy an e-voucher that can be used in-store or online during their maternity leave break.
  • Newborn — Celebrate the birth of a new baby with a newborn hamper or a gift card. A voucher will let the new parents buy what they need and will be a practical option.
  • First Birthday Gift Card — Buying a first birthday present is difficult, especially if you don’t have children of your own. That’s why a first birthday voucher is a thoughtful option.
How to ask for a baby voucher or money instead of a gift?

Some suggestions on how to ask for a gift card or cash instead of a baby gift are;

  • Ask in the invite — Instead of a baby shower present or a newborn gift, request they bring a voucher or cash.
  • Baby Shower Registry — Many people will expect you to have a baby shower registry. However, setting up a registry is time-consuming and can be complicated. Instead, make a baby voucher registry. Here you can include a list of your favourite baby shops.
Wording for the Voucher

The wording on the invite or note is crucial otherwise you will come off as greedy and money-hungry. Here are a few examples of the messages you could include;

  • You are invited to the baby shower of ‘insert name, date and location’. She has requested that no gifts be given and it’s more important that you are there to celebrate the special moment. If you do want to spoil the baby there will be a wishing well for gift cards or money. She can’t wait to see you there.
  • We can’t wait to see you at our Baby-Q and for you to celebrate the upcoming birth of our baby. ‘Insert time, date and location” Please don’t bring a present but if you would like to contribute we would appreciate gift cards to our favourite baby shops which can be found in the back. We can’t wait to see you.
  • Come and celebrate the birth of our beautiful baby. We are having a sip-and-see party and would love for you to be a part of this special moment in our lives. We were lucky enough to receive all the items we needed already however if you would like to contribute a gift card or money we will have a wishing well available. Looking forward to seeing you!

We hope this has provided you with some insights into buying a baby gift voucher.
