Organic Nursing Pads
Our organic nursing pads are handmade in Australia using soft and absorbent materials. They provide protection from leaking milk and comfort when nursing. All the while saving money and the environment.
Comfort is paramount. And using these will help protect your dry, cracked and sore nipples. The bamboo is soft on your sensitive skin. And as they are made from natural materials they provide better air circulation.
What are they?
They are small items that are worn under your bra to protect your clothes from leaking breast milk. These are also known as nursing pads. These come in various shapes and sizes. And are normally made with cotton, bamboo and Polyurethan Laminate.
Why do you need them?
Soon after your baby is born your milk will start to flow. And the reason to have these is to stop excess milk from leaking onto your clothes. They also help to keep your nipples dry and avoid moisture build-up.
Some people may not need them at all. It depends on how much milk you produce. There are many things that can impact how and when you leak milk. It can be as simple as hearing another baby cry. Or being away from your own baby. Your body may just produce a large amount. Or your breasts may leak while sleeping. Even being intimate with your partner or returning to work can impact how much milk you produce.
Materials
The materials we use are eco-friendly and sustainable. The front layer is made from cotton while the back is an organic bamboo cotton mix. Between the two layers is a Polyurethane Laminate. This material is soft, waterproof, breathable and easily cleaned. Combined with bamboo and cotton it makes them extremely absorbent.
Our pads are safe with no harmful chemicals used in the making process. And as we handmake everything in our studio in Perth, Australia. We know exactly what goes into our products.
They are easy to maintain. And can be cleaned in a washing machine. And can be dried with a tumble dryer or by hanging on a line.
These come in a set of 2. So you can use them both at the same time or one while you are breastfeeding. They are available in a range of prints as well as solid colours including black and white.
Financially they are the best option. Using reusable pads is cheaper in the long run. So you will be saving money as well as the environment. Ours can be used many times. And be kept for later babies. While disposables end up in a landfill. Harming the environment.
Different types
There are two main types. These are the reusable and disposable types.
Organic
An organic pad is a piece of fabric that’s placed in your bra to stop your clothes from getting wet. Once they are soaked through they are removed, washed and reused.
Disposable
A disposable pad is placed in your bra when you are leaking breast milk. Once you feel them getting soaked, you can remove them and throw them out.
